Our last day of the W Trek we awoke feeling a little under the weather from El Gato the night before. We had optimistically agreed with a few others to meet at 7am and go and watch the sunrise at the glacier lookout about 10 minutes from the refuge, but we didn't make it. We set off on day 5 with a little rain around, which wasn't too much of an issue, but it was insanely windy. As we walked along the base of the W, we saw lots more rainbows and walked through areas where all the trees had lost their leaves, leaving behind bare black and white bark.
