FARFRUMWURKEN
Today is the last day that we’ll see land for quite a while so we figured that we better get off for some supplies. Deborah and I are regular visitors to “The Emerald City” as it’s only a three-hour drive south of Vancouver, so we know it pretty well.
The objective was to stock up on bottled water, diet
coke and wine for the next five days at sea as we make our way to Honolulu,
Hawai’i. Holland did something very nice today, they arranged for shuttle buses to take us from Pier 91 into downtown, normally about a 15-minute car ride at no charge. Good move Holland.
They always have such a great deal on flowers at Pike’s Market, $10.00 which would likely be $60.00 in Canada, so we bought a huge bouquet for our cabin. There are so many Australian’s on this ship, all of them seem to be heading home after some vacation time in Canada.
Most of the afternoon was spent on the balcony,
watching the loading of some 500 new passengers getting on in Seattle, along
with food restocks after their 3-months on the Alaska run. After a brief rest for my eyelids this
afternoon, it’s off to dinner and a show and then it will be my first visit to
my favorite spot here onboard. In our room we have a large picture of the J,Q,K,Ace of Diamonds – I take it as a positive omen for a successful stint in the hallowed halls of the casino –
let’s hope.
