I've been unable to get access to the Inter-Web for these last few days as Jean hasn't got the service in her house so here I sit at the McDonald's in Clinton, TN for two hours while the girls shop the antique stores on Market Street in downtown Clinton. I've been here now for an hour or so, so it has allowed me to update the blog and get a bite to eat while they shop for those hidden treasures. I'm sitting here in the corner booth of McDonalds and if I keep my mouth shut, the patrons here likely think that I'm a local. But it's such a gas to hear the conversations going on around me with the local expressions and all. The plan for today is some for the girls to do what they enjoy and then we'll be heading out to Jean's mom's house just on the outskirts of Clinton and take her out for dinner. While it's a little day-to-day on the planning side, we have made arrangements to drive into Atlanta for Friday - stay overnight at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Hotel and then head home on Saturday. The weather here has been crazy cold - not unlike the cold that the north has been experiencing, but God - I'm 775 miles south of Toronto and like they say here in Tennessee - "it's colder that a witches tit in a brass bra laying face down in the snow". The long term plan is for it to warm up over the next couple of days, but unlike Ontario - the schools have been closed now for three full days and the roads are dry - it's just "too cold". It's day 35 since we left Abbotsford and we've enjoyed every minute of this trip, but it's nearly over as we're scheduled to get on the plane on the 14th so only one more week and our trip into the south will be over. We don't know if we can wait the three weeks until the next holiday to Mexico, but we'll try. I'm not quite sure when I can update the next edition of Trek to Tennessee, but stay tuned and I'll get this out as soon as I can as I'm sure there is another McDonalds some where in the near vicinity.
