Thursday, 8th July
As we neared the coast the skies of cloud and heavy rain from last night cleared and we knew it was going to be a good day. We arrived just after 11am, the town has obviously changed in 9 years but not so much that its not recognisable. We headed straight for where we stayed when we here last and couldn't believe it was still here. We walked through the kitch that was just the same, they'd changed the court yard adding a seating area and a few more cabanas. After a few dogs had scampered over out followed a more grown up Manuel, the 18 now 27 year old looking just like his Dad and behind him came Berta looking a bit older but not that different. We told Manuel that we'd stayed here 9 years ago and asked after his Dad and sister. Unfortunatley his Dad passed away only 2 months ago that we werevery sad to hear, and his sister is living round the corner. We managed to get our upgrade room that we'd been hoping for, unsuite, fan and big matress for £5 a night. Thinking of staying here for 2 weeks until we head to Mexico City. Extra bonus there's a fridge and wi-fi for £1 a day. Went up to the new supermarket to stock up on supplies for the next few days, delicious chicken tortillas for supper washed down with some family size Coronas, it's so good to be back. We have a little hummingbird that keeps popping round the flowers outside our cabana, first one we've seen.

Getting unpacked and settled into the beach life, times are good. With the hammock up I see lots of lazy days ahead of us.
Saturday, 10th July
Lovely sunny morning, massive thunder storm in the evening, heavy rain and very loud thunder. We skyped loads of people which was nice being able to show them where we're staying. The little boys in the cabana next to ours have caught lots of crabs and a tortoise from somewhere and are very excited about it. Tequila slammers were the order for the evening.
Sunday, 11th July
The boys next door kept us entertained for most of the day, getting more confident and coming over to ours, the youngest poor love has been mullered by the mosies. Rainy afternoon so read lots of my book, tough day!
Monday, 12th July
Not a lot to report, sunny and rainy day.

Thursday, 15th July
Woke up expecting it to be raining but we've had a surprise sunny day. Went down to the beach for a sunbath and swim, sea is so refreshing, haven't been in it since Moorea! The beach is just as it was 9 years ago. After a swim and a lounge we headed back, I finished Cuba Libre, reading in the sunshine of the courtyard after a busy morning.
Friday, 16th July
As hoped today was a beautiful clear blue skied day and very hot. After our usual lazy breakfast we headed up the coast to Puerto Angelito so we could tell Candice we'd been. The beach now has restaurants along it where before there'd been a few ladies with Eskies of cold drinks. The sea here is much better for swimming so we were straight in. A beer in the shade then a spot of sunbathing before it got too hot and we walked futher round the headland in search of the area where we used to go in the evenings to watch the sunset. We found the collonade of shops we used to walk past and then the area where the half built houses were now has beautiful beach side homes, with more being built, very tempting seeing some houses and plots for sale. Most of the headland is now private property but we found the path down from the cliff edge to the rocks where we used to sit and is still accessable so will pop back on a clear night at sunset.
Saturday, 17th July
Another sunny day so making the most of the day in the sunshine but have burnt my legs in the process. Tom wasn't feeling great today so we stayed near the cabanas, another lazy day that we're going to miss when back home.
Sunday, 18th JulyA typical day for us beach bums today, rained this evening so we went along to a beach bar for a few beers and cocktails. Love watching the sea when it rains, especially when it stays warm. Lots of people on the beach playing football.
Monday, 19th July
Woke up early so headed along Zicatela beach to check out the Quick silver surf Pro competition that's on in the mornings. The waves were massive and a few guys did well in the pipeline but one came out with half a board and wondered up the beach to find the other half. Very strong current and much bigger waves than down our end of the beachso more surfers up this end and body boarders and swimmers up our end. Walked through Zicatela beach town past a bakery, supplied with danish's we headed back.
Tuesday, 20th July
I spent most of the afternoon on the beach reading which was perfect, wonder up to the shops on a doughnut and muffin run and had a look for a few more presents. Spoke to Steve and Cass, was very surreal making final plans for Saturday, Linds will be arriving back at the same time as us so will be there too for Steve to bring back, so excited.
