Auckland is a great city with lots of green public spaces...and again the most amazing trees, flowers and landscaping in Albert Park. Spent quite a while in the Auckland Art Gallery. What an amazing space ...old and new perfectly blended. Beautiful exhibition space and interesting exhibits. Such a pleasure.
Took the ferry across to Devonport for the views from across the harbour. Great experience, especially as the Americas Cup yachts were out to play. Definately a paradise for yachties.
Met Caylee for drinks and dinner at the Waterfront ...what an amazing young woman she is and so much fun. Gold Coast is going to be fun !!!
On the Waterfront is a Container which is filled with an armchair and shelves of books. It is not manned ...and anyone can just sit there and read ...I suppose take a book and return it the next time they pass by. Such an amazing concept. Would love to do that in South Africa ...should do a trial run and see if it works. Sometimes people actually surprise one.
Well...our time in New Zealand comes to an end tomorrow ...it has been great...far surpasses expectations. I will remember the little wooden churches in even the tiniest of places, the amazing trees in parks and in the wild, the incredible lakes, stunning vista and just Hobbit country with very friendly and welcoming people ...very happy to share their beautiful country ....of which even the landscape is constantly changing. It has certainly given me a new perspective on life.
Ps. Sorry ....photos of the blogs don't reflect the city...wifi being really slow and I can't post the blog without a photo. Will hopefully have some Auckland photos to post tomorrow.
