Day 8 27/05/2013 Diamantina NP to Boulia What a beautiful morning. The flies had not yet woken up and we enjoyed a cooked breakfast watching the many birds visiting the waterhole, including a pair of pelicans who were successfully fishing for their breakfast. Day 7 26/05/2013 Deon's Lookout (Betoota) to Diamantina NP We left our camp by 7.30am. The sunrise was beautiful, but it was cold and windy and the water took an age to boil for our cup of tea! First part of the drive took us through more jump-up country. We again hit boggy patches but then it seemed to dry out. We saw lots of emu, 'Roos and several wedge-tailed eagles. We stopped for breakfast near a very nice creek and decided to get some water to wash the car...

Day 6 25/015/2013 Innaminka to Deon's Lookout (near Betoota) Up at dawn,(more howling dingoes), with the setting moon like a searchlight in the sky. Cold and clear. We packed up pretty quickly...except for the pop-up dunny tent.....that defeated us and we had to lie it flat on the bed, with Dave vowing to throw it out at the earliest opportunity! Drove the 6km to Innaminka to get fuel, (and we hoped a bacon and egg roll....sadly not), and decided to avail oursel...

Day 5 24/05/2013 Tibooburra to Nappa Merrie (or so we thought!) Not a cloud in the sky this morning.....but boy was it cold....Brrrr! Beautiful sunrise. Headed into town after breakfast. Only the road to Broken Hill was open. This was in the wrong direction for us; but we had worked out an alternate itinerary just in case we could only go South. We headed back to camp to pack up.
