Days 73-74 30-31/08/2013 Glenbrook to HOME!
Our Big Trip 2013 is at an end! We have had the most amazing time. We have covered over 16,000km and have visited every mainland state in Australia, (although most time was spent in WA), plus the Northern Territory. Dave has been the most awesome driver; his off-road driving skills are certainly in the 'experienced' category now! As you might expect with such a trip, we have had a few minor 'glitches' with our vehicle and camper along the way...........broken weld on the Tvan shock absorber.....fixed in Alice Springs; dirty fuel filter.......replaced in Broome; and an ongoing problem with the electrical braking system......not yet fixed......... but in all that time, and on all those rough roads, we have not had one flat tyre or broken window! The latter was probably just down to good luck, but the former is due in some part to having good off-road tyres and running on pressures which suit the conditions. The places we have visited have been many and varied, and the photos posted on the blog are just a tiny fraction of those actually taken!!!! Hopefully they are some of the best ones! We have met some interesting people, and I suppose, some not-so-interesting ones! Overall we have encountered exceptional friendliness, helpfulness, and very peaceful campsites and caravan parks.
I have enjoyed turning my usual 'travel diary' into a blog, and I hope that those of you who have been reading it, have enjoyed it.....your feedback certainly suggests that you have; thank you.
We are going to enjoy being at home now, until the next time :-)
