Day 71 28/08/2013 Robinvale VIC to Cowra NSW.
Although it was clear and starry when we went to bed, there were a couple of very short showers of rain overnight. However all canvas was dry by the morning.....it had been a very mild night. The day became warmer and sunnier as we continued our easterly trek through the very featureless Hay Plains. Once past Hay, the landscape became more pastoral and we came across two or three mobs of cattle being grazed in the 'long paddock', and then sheep, fortunately grazing in fenced paddocks! We passed through grain growing regions, again mainly wheat and canola. The roadside wattle trees were in bloom and at times we felt like we were travelling through a sea of yellow!!!
We had our usual stops for coffee and lunch, and reached our destination for today, Cowra, at around 3.30pm. We had made the decision yesterday to stay at a boutique B&B in the vineyards near Cowra, and we are currently enjoying a glass of wine on the verandah of said establishment, as the sun sets. There is a BBQ here and we have all the fresh food needed to make dinner. It will be a very relaxing evening and we may even get to see some election coverage on TV. I can't wait!!!!!! And the best bit??? Our own bathroom!!!!
