We've now been at Gili T nearly 3 days and it's been great . A really relaxed and chilled island with not that much to do , apart from enjoy the clear blue sea water, golden white sand and warm sun. Our first evening consisted of us getting our bearings and seeing what the island had to offer . We ate at a local restaurant and we both had a seafood kebab which they BBQ fresh for you . There are lots of restaurants like this on Gili T- where you can choose your meat or fish and enjoy it fresh . We bumped into a group of people we had met on our boat over here and joined them for the evening. We went over to their hostel to join in the backpacking experience , and continued out for the evening.
On our second day of Gili we had a well deserved lie in ! The first one in days due to our busy schedule in Ubud. We then went to the beach to sunbathe and swim in the sea. In the evening we had some tapas at a local bar/ restaurant and sat on bean bags on the beach. It was very relaxed and a good atmosphere. Later on we headed to a bar called 'rudy's' which was the main bar for that evening. It was very busy and met lots of other travellers. Some from New York , Munich and the UK. As the island is so small here you tend to bump into the same people a lot , which is nice.
Today we also had a chilled morning at the beach! First we had a banana pancakes on our veranda. The weather is better here in the morning so we are trying to make the most of it. In the afternoon we rented some bikes , as this is one of the only means of transport around the island. The other is horse and carriage. In the evening we tried out another BBQ type restaurant by the beach called 'scallywags'. We had prawn, squid and ribs on the BBQ. After this we went to a shisha bar and had some shisha along with some ginger tea. Very chilled!
