Since my last entry we joined a boat tour that went round the lslands to Flores and Komodo. We departed from Lombok on the 5th Jan and travelled overland and visited a local village to see pottery being made, which I have to say was cheap and really nice....shame I haven't got the space to buy loads. We then boarded a boat and sailed to Perama Resort, which is basically an island with nothing on it but a few shrubs, loads of coral and of course sand. We enjoyed an afternoon of snorkelling, and then had a bbq. The tour company thought it was essential to entertain us after the meal which was funny as they tried to get individuals to get up and sing...haaa like that's gonna happen! We then sailed through the night to Satonda Island which is a small island with a salk lake in the middle. We then sailed to Dongoo Beach for further snorkelling and sunbathing and then sailed during the night to Komodo island. We saw some Komodo's which were huge and I must admit you wouldn't want to bump into one during a walk. We then sailed to Flores and had our farewell party on the boat. Overall the boat trip was lovely, the people were really nice, the snorkelling was fab, and the views were just lovely....anyone thinking of their next holiday...then Lombok or other islands are a must! Flores is beutiful, but where we stayed..Labuan Bajo, not much to do really and the hotels are limited both the number and quality. Its basically a small fisihing port. We did however manage to book our flights to Bali...phew thought we were gonna be stuck there for while. Our first hotel was Golo Hilltop which had lovely views and was ok so we decided to stay there for 2 nights...well thats the only availability they had. After that we stayed at Gardena cottages which have to say isn't great on quality...hmmm the bathroom really needed some updating and well lets face it some bleach! Spent all my time feeding some poor kitten that looked very thin and ill...so he hot a nice fish fillet for dinner and spent ages trying to find some milk for it so in the end got powdered will and just added water. We are now in Bali as we fly out to Oz on teh 14th Jan....yipeeee We are staying in a lovely hotel in Benoa which is really nice and a bit of a treat after some of the places we have been staying in during our trip. Anyway thats all for now as have been uploading the pictures for the last 2 hours. The next postcard will be from oz Pea and Carrot
