The taxi  to take us from Laguna de Apoyo picks us  up early and after stopping on route for a visit to the ATM, arrives in Granada  right on 11.30 just as a bus to Rivas is leaving....somehow the taxi driver got the conductor's attention.  He stopped the bus, we got our luggage out of taxi....it was taken onto roof of bus, we piled in to a very packed bus and spent the first hour standing ...then conductor shouted change here for San Jorge bus for Ometepe....loads of people ourselves included pile out, get our luggage from  roof and went onto another bus which was even fuller.....being last on  waiting for bags to come off the roof  and on to another meant we were standing just on the steps inside the bus then the doors closed and  we were off..only 10 km to go but hanging on tightly in case we were thrown out when the doors opened  which they did frequently well before the bus came to a stop to pick up and drop off on route. A young lad caused a wee ripple of amusement when he squeezed down the packed isle of the bus to get off with a live chicken in a carrier bag.
