9th July 2009 We left Nelson this morning and drove around 2 hours to Buller Gorge, it is just off the highway and is a rainforest with various walks. 8th July 2009 This morning we started our drive to Nelson, there wasnt a rush like yesterday so the drive was easier and less crazy! We stopped in a really nice town called kaikoura to have lunch and take a look around. It is meant to be good for whale watching here, however we didnt see any from our camper! 8th July 2009 We were awake by 6am, checked in and sat in the que waiting to go on the ferry. Once on the ferry we went upstairs onto the main deck and to sit in the cafe area. The ferry wasnt too bad, a bit choppy at times. It took 3 and a half hours. We both spent most of the time sat in the cafe, we fell asleep for a while then got some food (free toast!). 7th July 2009 Last night we stopped South of Taupo in Turangi, we had a few drinks and watched our skydive dvds a couple of times!!! Today we drove about 3 hours to Wellington, ready to get the ferry tomorrow morning. When we arrived we parked up and took a walk around the city centre. 5th July 2009 This morning the weather was still bad so we decided to drive to Waitomo Caves to see the glow worms. The drive took about 2 hours and was very foggy. Once we arrived at Waitomo we bought a combo ticket, we first had a guided tour around Aranui Caves.
