After a short transfer we arrived at J Mansions in Ao Nang, a nice family run hotel 5 minutes from the beach. Today was a free day, so we went to the beach and lay in the sun afternoon. Drank beers and watched the sunset from the hotel before heading out to dinner and a ladyboy show, they were all stunning (check the photo). To be honest the show was pretty awful, none of them could really dance and the miming was the worst I've ever seen...apparently there is a much better show in Bangkok.
On Wednesday a few of us decided to take a ferry to Phi Phi, it's meant to be beautiful with lots to see and do and it's where they filmed the beach (I think). It took 3 hours to get there with the bus, then all the waiting around, think I got too much sun on the front of the boat. If we wanted a beach we'd have to get a taxi to one, so another 10 minute boat trip and more money. It was a beautiful place, very peaceful, good views and a few hotels and restaurants. Not a bad place to spend a Wednesday lunch time but with all the travel time and extra money, it would have been just as nice to stay where we were for the day.... Plus I fell over getting onto the longtail boat and now can't sit on my right bum cheek, which is awkward as my left one has mozzie bites!
Me and Leanne planned a quiet night, quick dinner and bed. It never quite worked out, we went an expensive dinner (2 courses for £5) on the beach with Dena, Akito and Charlotte, definitely nicer than staying in and dying my hair which was the original plan.
Tomorrow we pack a small bag and head off to visit a few islands....with camping on Bamboo island, should be interesting.
