Next is a two day boat trip on the Mekong river, a homestay in a village on the first night then crossing the border into Thailand the following afternoon. What a journey, I hope I don't have anymore like this coming up-I'm not going to check. 7 hours on a bus (although it was a comfy private bus) up and down small winding roads through the mountains. The flight to Laos was pretty luxurious to what I was expecting. I pictured a tiny plane with bits hanging off but it was a big plane with lots of leg room (which seems odd as most Asian people are very small). As soon as we stepped off the plane the heat hit me, I think I'd got a bit used to the cooler weather in the city....now it's back to sweating like mad...but hopefully sunshine.
