Not much to report this week, I ended up starting before Friday so didn't have much time to explore Bowen. Instead I have worked 7 night shifts. They broke me in gently with a nice 13hr shift squeezing tomatoes! There are 3 sections; rubbish, grading and packing. I was on rubbish so had to throw out ripe or diseased tomatoes, very tedious! We get a 10min break every 3hrs and 30mins after 6hrs, so its a lot of standing up, but hopefully after a few more shifts the...

I arrived in Bowen today and have managed to get a job starting next Friday. We will be packing tomatoes for up to 12hrs depending on the number of tomatoes that have been picked. When the factory is in full swing it runs 24hrs a day so we will be rotating between day and night shifts! I arrived in Airlie beach on Sunday evening. That night we went out for dinner and drinks with everyone on the bus. We spent most of Monday shopping and chilling out at the hostel. I have spent the last two days doing quite a lot of travelling. We left 1770 early yesterday morning and travelled through the great dividing range to the outback (central Queensland). Yesterday I travelled from Rainbow Beach to 1770 (Agnes water), a small town named after the year Captain Cook claimed Australia for Britain, as it was the first place in Queensland that was ever set foot on.
