I spent Friday afternoon in Waitomo, a tiny farming village, where I went black water rafting through the caves. The water was freezing but well worth it. A highlight had to be floating along through caverns lit up by thousands of glow worms. Apparently the David Attenborough planet earth programme on caves was filmed there. There was also jumping off waterfalls but luckily they weren't too high!! That evening we went to the local pub for a few drinks.
This morning we went for a stunning walk that took us to water falls and caves. Then we went and watched angora rabbit shearing, which was... interesting! We then set off for the 2hr drive to Taupo, home to lake Taupo.

Catheirne Sounds great and the food sounds alright to, you are not missing much here is really hot and humid now and storms most nights. hope we can manage a sunny day for Maggie Island.
Mo Hi Em, sorry been away for a time, we had a great time in North Norfolk in the Eco-Barn I booked with indoor pool, v.v. nice, ended with snow on the Thurs nite/Friday so bit of a snowy scene all good. Then had a really busy week at work and juggling works, hours and pills for my rubbish throat again, that was last Monday and today, Friday the Doc changed pills and gave me more, so taking 16 pills and a nasal spray, knock out stuff and sleeping well. Very disappointed that I cannot go down the Farm this weekend and called your Mum today, but need to shake this off before Xmas and especially as its -4 and getting colder in Yaxley. Heating on full, lots of hot tea, hot chocolate and chicken soup, and hope to feel better soon. Keep your blogs and travel experiences coming through, they are great to read and wished I had packed a rucksack and gone to NZ too, sounds so a-maz-zing. Safe travels, Love Mo xx
Emma Mo, I am sorry to hear you have been so ill again, I hope you are feeling better now. I'm glad you had a good time in Norfolk. Glad you are enjoying my blogs, I am having a fantastic time, as you can tell I have done SO much! Loving New Zealand alot! Catherine, I think I definately made the right choice weather wise coming here! I was thinking of maybe going to Maggie on my birthday and doing the ride. It will no doubt be raining, but it would be nice to do something for the day and I spoke to Kimbo and she thought it wouldnt really matter as you get wet anyway!! Love Emma xxxx
