It felt so great to finally not be fighting rough seas and I really started to love every second of being on the boat, and look forward to every second that would be spent on a new island. The island we went to today was the most beautiful destination I had ever been to, a completely unspoilt paradise island. It was actually hard to believe any beach could be that perfect.
The water was so blue, clear and calm it was ridiculous. Turquoise and clear as glass with no waves crashing against the shore, just peaceful, still paradise in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. The island was covered in palm trees, the greenest I had ever seen and I felt so lucky to be experiencing such an incredible place. It was impossible to not constantly have a smile plastered across my face with such surroundings.
We started up a game of volleyball with another boat crew which was hysterical considering Liv and I are not avid volleyballers, yet Selina, Canadian Leanne, and New Zealander Jess were all pretty sporty! Starving after all the swimming and running around we returned to the boat for some very messy and well needed tacos!
We continued sailing to another island where we would anchor for the night and the weather was gorgeously sunny and hot! We stopped on the way to snorkel in the clear warm waters which was so great (despite fighting through a million jellyfish like in finding nemo). Luis attached each of us in turn to a kind of harness thing attached to a rope that was secured on the mast of the boat, and we climbed down the side jumping around as the boat sailed on, touching the sea with our fingers and getting terrible wedgies - hilarious!
We spent the evening on that island, chatting with some guys from another boat and the locals who were crazy! We tried the local products and talked for hours. They made a huge bonfire for us and we all sat around it drinking rum and listening to music. The evening ended with an awkward salsa in the dark which was very funny and then everyone came back to our boat for a while before we called it a night.
