We arrived in La Paz early in the morning and after putting all our stuff down at Wild Rovers Hostel we went for breakfast to this really cute vegetarian restaurant. We decided to have an easy and relaxed day of shopping after having done so much in the past few days non-stop.
As it was a Sunday the entire city was filled with market stalls selling all varieties of items from toys to clothing and both Liv and I had lots of things in mind that we wanted to purchase. We meandered around buying things here and there (probably spending too much money than I should have) and it was actually a really lovely day. It was such a treat having hot sunny weather too! We had some lunch at a really nice restaurant and continued to wander around all the stalls, before stopping in the main central square to sit in the sun and enjoy some people watching.
We then somehow ended up on a bus up into the mountains, with absolutely incredible views of the enormous La Paz to see......traditional Bolivian women wrestling.....?! It was perhaps the strangest most bizarre experience of my life. They were all dressed up vey arranged and performed extremely fake and choreographed wrestling matches, making Liv and I wander how the hell we had ended up in this situation watching such nonsense! It became very very entertaining when one larger, older and extremely enthusiastic but seemingly creepy Bolivian woman got in the ring with one of the young tourist guys in the audience. So odd but an experience nevertheless!!!!!
Over the moon to be in a warm room with a comfortable bed, and not having to wear a million layers or have to be up before sunrise, we jumped at the opportunity of an early night.
