Hi Guys!!

Wednesday morning we walked to the opposite end of the town for a fresh bakery breakfast before hitting the road again, destination - Margaret River.

First stop Augusta. We retraced the steps that we'd taken a few months ago, to show mum and dad some of the places we loved. We drove south and stopped at a lookout to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, before we continued on to the lighthouse. The lighthouse is situated at the point where the Southern Ocean and the Indian Ocean meet. Next stop was the Old Waterwheel; we took some photos and then talked mum and dad into climbing up some rocks for a better view of where the two oceans meet. We stopped at the top, admiring the view, and then spotted a pair of dolphins cruising by; this made the climb even more worth the effort.

We drove back to town for some lunch, before making our way to Hamelin Bay. This is our favourite beach in the area, so we decided to spend a few hours here. We played ball, swam, snorkelled and relaxed in the sun, soaking up the beauty of this great beach. We decided to take a walk along the beach, before it was time to continue our journey. As we walked along the shore I told mum that I'd read that stingrays frequent these waters, dad reached the remains of the old jetty, and read a sign about stingrays coming into the shallows here, and as he turned around - there they were!! It was AMAZING - wild rays coming into the shore as we stood only ankle deep in the water. Over about 15 minutes we saw 4 eagle rays and 6 massive sting rays - which were up to 5ft wide! It was an amazing experience, which was topped off when a ray swam right up to Emma's feet and flapped it's wing on her leg, as she stepped back the stingray edged closer, it wanted some attention in return, and wouldn't swim off until Emma had stroked it.

When we finally dragged ourselves away we hit the road again and completed our journey to Margaret River, where we checked into the brilliant Quest Apartments. We took a quick walk around the town before all the shops shut and returned to the apartment for a few beers and pizza!!
