G'day Guys!!
Thursday morning we made a pit stop at the fudge factory before heading out of Margaret River & continuing our journey north. We stopped at the chocolate factory, before going for 9 holes of Supa Golf. Big clubs, Big balls, Great fun!! We decided to make a couple of stops at wineries and chose Becketts Flat and Flinders Bay Wines, from which we bought a few bottles of yummy wine.
We soon arrived in Busselton and checked into the Busselton River Resort Motel, we unloaded the car and then set off into town; and then it began to rain - GREAT!! We'd booked onto a tour of the Underwater Observatory, which is a huge Japanese water pipe (with windows added) that's been sunk to the sea bed at the end of the Busselton Jetty. This allows you to descend 8 metres below sea level to see the thriving marine environment.
So, we had to get a move on, we had a 1.8km walk to the end of the jetty to the Underwater Observatory. We saw some amazing fish, plants and corals; and found it very difficult to drag ourselves away - especially dad, as the longer you look the more you see in this underwater world.
We finished off another great day with a delicious meal at the Vasse Hotel in Busselton.
Friday morning we packed the car once more as we began our return journey to Perth. We stopped in a rainy Bunbury before moving further north to sunny Mandurah for a spot of lunch. We soon made it back to Perth and checked into the Sorrento Beach Resort, our home for the next week.
Love Emma and Lee
