Couple of really boring days. I have been really ill so spent the whole of the 3rd Jan curled up in bed. Having a lot of trouble with the whole visa business although I have finally managed to get my Vietnam visa all sorted and so now just waiting on my Thailand visa as at the border they can now only give you a 15 day visa not a 30. Been to the embassy soo many times that I don't even need to take the map with me anymore, I even managed to help a German tourist with directions the other day. So went to the Thailand embassy yesterday armed with all my paperwork to be told that I needed to prove that I was leaving Malaysia, what this had to do with them I don't know but it meant that I had to wait an extra day to book a train and to go back to the embassy.

I was one of the first there this morning as I was not then going to take a number and have to wait another hour to be seen to. Had been sitting on the steps for an hour before the embassy even opened and at 9.29am a malaysian guy that has just arrived decides to shove me out of the way and literally press his nose up against the glass wanting to be the first served.

Now if is one thing that I have learnt about Malaysian people in the last week is that they are petrified of all white people as they think that we all have Swine Flu. So me armed with my snotty cold went up behind the guy and had a coughing fit right behind him and then proceded to apologise by touching his hand, sufice to say he soon moved, as did every other Malaysian around me and I was the first out of over a hundred people to be served this morning. Gross I know but it had to be done, and I still have a graze on my shin where he stampeeded past me. Hopefully he will also wake up with a snotty cold tomorrow and think he has swine flu.

Visa finally being processed which is brilliant and I literally skipped home! This also means that I will FINALLY be leaving KL on Thursday, heading for Langkawi which will make a very welcome change!
