Best day in Malaysia so far!
Well apart from having to get up at 6 with a hangover to get on a jittery old bus, that wasn't as much fun. Off to the elephant park today. There were supposed to be two of us going but unfortunatly the other guy was a bit preoccupied with his head down a toilet.
So just me and the bus driver set off in the minivan. In the morning we were supposed to be going to a deer park but they were closed as it is a bank holiday out here as well. So instead he took me to the Batu Caves which were amazing and which I was planning on doing another day so that saved me a ton of money.
If I was ever going to convert to religion I would want to be a Hindu that prayed at this temple. With the 272 steep steps up a cliff face as well you would be bloody fit. Even saw some wild monkeys. Took loads of photos but for some reason the computers over here dont seem to recognise my camera which is a bit of a bummer as I can't uplaod the photos.
Then headed off into the jungle where we stopped and had lunch. Very amusing British couple didn't seem to realise that there wasn't a menu and that your choices were 'chicken and rice' or 'chicken and rice'! Really nice chicken and rice though.
Then headed down to the elephant park and watched a video about them relocating the elephants as there are a lot of hunters still in Malaysia and although they are now a protected species, that doesn't seem to matter that much to them.
Finally they brought the elephants out and I got to feed the baby one. Got to go for a ride on one of the older elephants as well which was amazing. Then they all went for a bath in the river and we were told to climb on and they would take us for another ride. All of the elephants are trained to listen to voice commands which was quiet amusing as suddenly all of the elephants were rolling over in the water, taking us with them and soaking us. Should have seen it coming really.
Fantastic day but absolutely wiped so will probably have an early one with my new book!
