Well, I know I haven´t updated this in a while, and quite a lot has happened! Last weekend we went to La Fortuna, the town at the base of Arenal Volcano, the 3rd most active volcano in the world. We didn´t see a thing! We didn´t even see the top of the volcano, the cloud was too low! But it was still nice to get away for a few days, even if it did rain pretty much non-stop! This weekend we went on a little trip to San Jose, leaving on the Friday afternoon after Spanish class. We got a bus to Heredia, and then another to San Jose. Arrived in Costa Rica yesterday and settled in with the host family. They are lovely but don´t speak any English but we seem to be managing with our limited Spanish and gregarious hand gestures.The first thing I noticed when we arrived is that all the houses have barred walls around them and some rooves have barbed wire. Well, now I'm in LA again. I took an overnight bus from San Fran to LA on Wednesday night and arrived on Thursday morning in downtown LA. Managed to get a bus out to LAX and met Tania at the airport when her flight arrived in the afternoon. We managed to get to our very unfriendly and unhelpful hostel!
