i cant put any photos on so im just using all the free ones they give me online - thats agra fort by the taj mahal!

so this week doesnt seem as eventful for me, but i think its because ive settled into my new home so fast. im half way through my first project and i cant believe how fast its going. i had my first teaching spoken english class on monday. me and Leta the other volunteer, had the class of crazy 10 yr olds. we had them shouting out what they already knew, and their english is brilliant! they knew everything we had planned to teach them so it was panic time monday night trying to plan for the next days lesson. tuesday was so different, they sat silently did what we wanted, and they seem a lovely bunch of kids. me english is rubbish!! i use so much slang and short cuts when i talk i shouldnt be allowed to teach these kids.

im leanring more and more indian sign language, i regularly join in with sports class, and they enjoy showing off to me how strong they are etc. i think no indian girl would ever dream of having a race against a boy or play pretend gun fights, so they really enjoy it when me and the other volunteer play. i went rollerblading on the worlds oldest skates!! they looked like they were made in 1800s. metal poking me in my feet etc but it was good fun. i like so much of the food here, i hope i have room in my bag so i can bring lots of their snacks home with me!

there had been an outbreak in some disease at the place we were planning on going to this weekend so we've decided to stay in our near town and just shop. we will go see a bollywood film tomorrow and visit some waterfalls.

yesterday we had a huge feast. the orphanage has received more donations from people so we had a feast to celebrate. there was buckets and buckets of food, and a mountain of poppudoms (not sure how you spell them) it was so nice!

im going to buy another camera today, so i can take lots of photos. the kids go crazy if they see you have your camera. they all want millions of photos taken of them. it can get tiring after a while!

well shall leave it there, off to shop for some fruit, mmm yummy mangoes :)
