So, as you can guess, we didn't have a very peaceful night. Only got about 2h sleep each. In the early hours we found out the airport had free wifi, so Emelie was able to skype with her nan while we waited until the airport would let us in again. We were finally able to go in at about 4am, checked in our luggage and got on the plane. When we landed in Sydney we only had an hour to catch our next flight but we made it, peace of cake!
We arrived in Yulara and got a bus to the place we were getting picked up. By this time we were starving, a plate of fish and chips did the job. Then out tour leader picked us and a Korean couple up to take us to meet the rest of the group.
Everyone seems really nice, we headed for Kata Tjuta, a mountain range that formed millions of years ago by lots and lots of small rocks held together by mud and clay. It was really beautiful, but the walk was a bit tough. It was hot, about 35 degrees and steep in some places, but the view from the lookout was worth it. The walk took about 2 hours with some stops.
We finally got a chance to see Uluru (Ayers rock). Sunset with champagne, crackers and dip, yum! It was very nice. Dinner tonight was barbecued meats, salad and Logans potato bake. Krista tried the kangaroo steak and camel sausage. Emelie had some kangaroo too and "tried" some sausage, and by tried she means tasted a piece the size of a quarter pea. Krista doesn't think it counts!
After dinner we all went to bed, some in tents, some in swags. We slept in a tent tonight. We'll tell you more about swags tomorrow.
