What a blisteringly hot day!! We didn't get out of the house until 12ish, a bit late considering the amount of people that were going to be in the city. After buying some provisions for the day, we took a bus to circular quay and headed for the opera house.

Unfortunately for us we didn't realise we weren't allowed to take the alcohol we'd bought in with us. So had to chuck it on inspection. The entrance to the opera house was closed because the capacity o the area was already full. But we got some pretty good spots anyway. But it has been so hot!!! Bright shining sun all day, which we weren't prepared for. No hats, sun-cream, parasols etc. So we got a bit warm and sweaty..

The first fireworks were at 9pm, so we got changed into our party dresses and moved forward. The first fireworks were pretty good. But we had to wait another 3 hours for the real thing.. Fortunately for us, we were standing right next to a band with a really good singer, so we ha live entertainment all night :)

3, 2, 1... * * *HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! * * *
The fireworks were really amazing, every colour and formation you can imagine. So beautiful. The hard task was getting home afterwards. There were probably 200-250 people waiting in line for our bus. But we got to the front pretty fast and were home by 2am :)
