Day 68 (Tuesday 12th Feb 08)

Yet another early morning to be ready for a taxi to the airport as we were told the journey took about an hour. Arriving only half an hour after we had left we found it was a lot shorter than expected so had a couple of hours to hang around until our flight! The flight with Vietnam Airlines was fine but when we saw the short runway for landing with sea at either end it was a bit scary! Luckily we landed with no problems. Got a bus to Nha Trang which dropped us off quite far away from the centre so got our bags on our backs and started walking. Ended up wandering around for ages trying to find somewhere to stay. Most places we tried we more expensive than we wanted so ended up taking ages. In the end a guy on a motorbike said that he had rooms for USD10 so after knowing we probably weren't going to find anywhere else decided to follow him. Luckily the rooms were fine so we checked in and left our bags there. Very nice to have them off our backs! Went out for a wander without our bags and stopped at Cheers Cafe for something to eat. Nice cheap and cheerful place! Had a walk around and saw lots of nice crayfish and seafood being served everywhere. When we got back to the hotel decided to see if we could get our room for any cheap and luckily managed to for the last 3 nights which was good.

Day 69 (Wednesday 13th Feb 08)

Got up and went for some cheap food at the cafe next door. Went for a walk around to see what was going on and what there was to do. Saw lots of nice shops yet again. Walked down to the beach and wandered along with the massive waves crashing on the shore in the wind. There were people sunbathing but not sure they were getting any sun! Sat and watched the waves for a while - nice to be by the sea again. Went to a little cafe for a drink and then went back to the hotel for a bit. Decided to go out and find something to eat, went to a really nice place called Rainbow, they organise diving trips but they do food and have a bar so was nice to chill out.

Day 70 (Thursday 14th Feb 08 - Valentine's Day)

Had a lazy morning this morning and then popped out for something to eat next door again. Decided to have a cheap day so we could splash out in the evening on a nice meal. Went back to the hotel and then got ready and went out for a nice walk and sat and had a drink down by the beach which was really cold in the wind. Back to the hotel to get ready and went to find a nice restaurant to have a big crayfish. Found a nice place and picked out a 1.2kg crayfish to have BBQ for us along with some Tiger prawns to have to start with. Started with some cocktails and then ordered a bottle of wine, which we haven't had any of for ages! The prawns were delicious and the crayfish was massive with lots of juicy tasty garlicy meat. Very filling! Finished our meal and drinking our wine when Mark proposed! Em of course said yes. Both very happy and excitied. Mark didn't have a ring but we had bought a shell ring earlier in the day so using that temporarily until we buy one in Bangkok. Looked for some Champagne at the restaurant but they didn't sell it but found a sidestall selling some. Bought a bottle and headed back to the hotel. Emailed family once we were back to let them know the news! Tried the champagne but it was a serious let down! Have to wait to find a decent bottle!

Day 71 (Friday 15th Feb 08)

A lazy morning after our amazing night before. Popped out for some breakfast and then went back to chill out at the hotel. Emailed friends to let them know our news and Aimee had heard already! News travels fast in Guernsey! In the afternoon decided to go out for a nice long walk to see some of the scenery. Headed down to the beach and headed off the right to see how far we could go. Nice to get some exercise and see some more of the scenery. Stopped at Cheers cafe on the way back for a drink and then decided to get something to eat. As we walked back to the hotel stopped at the shop to buy a notebook, comb, water and shampoo. Once back at the hotel realised that the shampoo was only half full! Been ripped off again - have to check everything over here! Chilled out and read our books.

Day 72 (Saturday 16th Feb 08)

Up very late today as ended up having a late night the night before. Sorted out our bags ready to get the bus tomorrow to Da Lat and went out for some lunch next door again! Went for another long walk, again heading down to the beach but this time heading left along the beach and seeing how far we could go. Again saw lots of amazing scenery. Also saw some not so nice things - a dead rat washed up on the beach and then a dead dog washed up on the beach. Not nice at all, definitely enough to put you off swimming! Decided to go for a crayfish on the sidestalls this time to see how good they were there compared to our amazing one the other night at the restaurant. Found another 1.2kg one and they BBQ it. Was very good and tasty, some parts weren't completely cooked though so we were careful but most of it was very tasty! Got very messy as it wasn't very easy to eat with just a fork so ended up just using our hands and got covered in the sauce. Very good and about a third of the price of the one in the restaurant. Went back to the hotel to use Skpe but the interent was down! Just our luck! Went out in search off somewhere else and found somewhere after having a few problems along the way and seeing rats crawling up the wall!! Went for something to eat and back to the hotel.
