Day 8 (Friday 14th Dec 07)

Got up and packed our bags, was a struggle to get it all in! Had a good salad lunch at Dave's which will be our last salad for quite a while! Dave took us to the airport and we waited around for our flight to Mumbai with Air India which was delayed for a couple of hours. Bit of an interesting flight and very interesting landing! Walking out of the airport was an experince! Luckily we found the guy that was meeting us quite easily but there were people coming up to us straight away wanting money. Got a bit of a shock when we realised which car we were going in to the hotel. One bag fitted in the boot with us squashed in the bag with our little backpacks and the other big bag on the guy's lap in the front, no seatbelts in sight, which is pretty common here. The roads were pretty scary as noone seems to use lanes and everyone just goes for any space they can find! Dogs wandering all over the roads which was scary as you think they are going to get hit. The poverty was a bit of a shock seeing the places they live in and people sleeping by the busy roads. Everything was probably a bit more hard to deal with as it was late at night. Eventually got to the hotel which was not really how we had imagined it. Very noisy all night and we didn't feel safe at all.
