The drive to Airlie was fine and fair. It's a beautiful country and you cannot imagine till you get here how vast it is. Mission beach was lovely, and in truth I prefer it to Airlie. Which is beautiful, but much more commercial. Our apartment at Airlie was a dream, it was as lovely as Townsville was nondiscript. Picked up the car today, A dark gray Toyota Camry. Lovely, big and comfy. We decided to push along with the drive, but stopped as a necessity at the chicken shack for brekkie. I know I'm a veggie, but the ladies were nice enough to do me an egg and cheese muffin, on the clean side of the hot plate. The tablets and a reasonable nights sleep mean I'm not feeling so diabolical today. James is pretty excited about the Reef, he's been before, but not sure he's been to Agincourt Reef 3 which is where we go next. Pick up at 8:15am. Coach from Cairns to Port Douglas. Well hello Cairns and another good reliable Mercure Hotel! Cloudy when we arrived Friday, but the forecast is good for tomorrow. I am totally stuffed up with a cold. I spent the entire 3 hour flight from Uluru sneezing and blowing my nose. The other passengers didn't look super happy about it. Feeling like nothing on earth, hope to be ok tomorrow, this is THE TRIP Jamie has been looking forward to. I'm dosing myself up with allsorts to fight the germs off....
