Today we wandered around our area of Porto Torres and went to a small shopping centre. The town is really peaceful and everybody has been really friendly, which is quite refreshing after being in Italy where there is no customer service! We went to sleep at 8:30am... And woke up at 7:45pm!!!!! We needed it! We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was a €20 menu which was a good deal. I had gnocchi to start, Parma ham and mozzarella for main and watermelon for pudding. Then we went back to bed!

Today we are getting a ferry from Civitavecchia to Sardinia which we are very much looking forward to. To get to Civitavecchia we have to take 3 trains, this will make the day more stressful, the first train is at 11:13 and are check out is 10:00 so we already have to try and kill time at a train station. Pompei was an ancient town which was destroyed by Mount Vesuvius (the volcano) in 79AD. It's very well preserved and they are still uncovering it to this day. It is open to the public so we went for the day. It was about ten minutes from our hotel so it wasn't far. Tripadvisor warned that it gets very hot and there is no shade. Today we are leaving Florence (hooray!). Florence is a gorgeous city, but our hotel was not and we had some bad experiences. We are going from Florence to Salerno, and Salerno to Pompei.
