The past few days have been really fun. Thursday night was amazing! Our friends from camp were going to a turtle hatching at Agonda beach and asked if we wanted to join them, of course we were like yeahhhh! It sounded really cool, you sleep on the beach with just a mat and a sleeping bag and then wake up at 2am to go looking for turtles. Unfortunatly the turtles decided not to hatch whilst we were there but it was still a really good night. The beach is untouched...

HAPPY HOLI!!! We have had the best day yet today-celebrating Holi! Not too sure exactly what it is we are celebrating but it's a national holiday where everyone throws paint powder around! It's hard to explain why its been so fun, but I think it's because the whole camp got the day started with a little lie in (very rare) and then gradually woke up to being splattered with paint as they stepped out if their dorm rooms! Ellie's Project Well I am doing a day care centre with a girl called Fiona. Our job is basically to try and educate the kids while the teacher (for some unknown reason) has a months break! On the first day we did actually make the mistake of going to the wrong centre and had a morning of fun with a load of random kids, but the teacher didnt look surprised to see us so we thought it was fine....until we got back and it turned out the idex staff had been looking ...

Vicky's Project I picked to volunteer at the Kolva Fisherman School. Its a small hut on the beach which is quite nice other than it gets piping hot! On average 15 children turn up each day and we all squeeze in, they are all of different ages ranging from 2 - 12, and all diffeent abilities, this make its quite hard to teach them but we do our best! Its also difficult because not many of the children turn up everyday, this is because thier families are all fish...

We've had a busy week! It's been great! We've both picked our projects, but we'll each tell you more about them in a different blog post! Shortly after we arrived at camp we had a really nice evening where all the volunteers had dinner together, sat outside! The food was all cooked outside as well and we got to help our friends Mohan & Baghi (who work at the camp) make the Naan breads! Vicky was cheif butterer and cutter in halfer!
