We had the most amazing day today!! We started our morning by meeting up with Judy, Lachy, Tom and Matt and did a bike tour! It was so much fun! They gave you the coolest bikes! Tom's was by far the best! At one stage he looked like he was on a Harley! The tour went for about 3-4 hours! We rode all around Barcelona! Gaudi - an architect has designed majority of the monuments around the city! His most outstanding being the church! His design was initially drawn upside down! He doesn't believe in straight lines so all of his work is really curved! I personally think he took too many drugs! His designs are crazy and bizarre!! The church is stunning! You will never see anything like!! It has 12 towers in total representing the apostles. It also has the seasonal fruits, and a selection of people carved in all meaning different things and each side is completely different! Half way through our tour our guide took us to a local wine bar for 1€ wine and beer! He was a really nice guy! He was from Australia, but had lived in Spain for 8 years. I was completely oblivious to the fact that up until 1992 Barcelona had no beaches! When the Olympics was held here they had a strip of beaches made, palm trees planted throughout town and the dock moved! I find it hard to imagine! After our tour we all went out for lunch - I'm loving all the seafood! After lunch Lachy, Judy, simon and I wandered across to the beach for a swim and lay down! The water was so beautiful! All 4 of us treated ourselves to a massage! It was amazing!! 5€ you can't go wrong :) after a few hours we headed back to our hotels for a siesta and of course on the way picked up some gelato! We got back to our hostel and relaxed before getting ready to meet everyone for dinner! When we were on our bike tour we asked where to get good tapas and he recommended a place close by! When we all met we ventured over to check it out! It was crazy!! There were so many people there. When you order food you get free champagne and it was actually nice! We didn't stay very long it was absolutely jam packed! We went on a mission to find a tapas bar and we came across the most random little bar in an alley. We were undecided what we were going to do when a couple told us we had to go in! We went in and the staff were amazing!! He put us upstairs in a little loft. The shop was really small and you could literally pass things up and down from the kitchen! The boys couldn't stand up straight because they were too tall! It does pay to be short... Sometimes!! Ha ha. To order you are given a piece of paper and you write the numbers of you're food down! We all ordered pints of sangria - which were delicious!! The best part of the meal was when we got the food and the man was passing it up over the ledge! It was hilarious! At one stage he was using his spatula to get Matt's attention to pass the food up! The food was amazing! Hands down Spain has had the best food yet! After dinner we went to a little bar down the road and had cocktails! The Spanish aren't stingy with their proportions of alcohol! It's crazy how much they put in! I sipped on mojitos for the rest of the night :) After a few hours we moved to another bar off Las Ramblas for a few drinks and called it a night pretty early because tomorrow we're doing a bar crawl! :)
