What a stressful morning! Simon, Erin and I all woke up at 5:00am and had no problems getting a taxi to the airport shuttle, however Henry and Kate had great difficulty with their taxi not turning and no others willing to come! When Simon, Erin and I arrived at the airport and no Kate and Henry to be seen we started to panic as they were no where to be seen and kate had made the booking and had all of the booking details! We lined up hoping that giving them our details would be enough and after about 30minutes of being at the airport Kate and Henry come running in! The stress still didn't stop as only Henry and Kate had been checked in and no boarding passes had been printed! Which resulted in us all having to pay an extra 40€! I think we all learnt yesterday to be more organised with our bookings! Ha ha. After that amazing start to the day I think we all just wanted to forget it ever happened! Finally we hopped on the plane and set off for Roma! :) I snapped up a window seat. I'm so glad I did because the. Views over were beautiful! We flew over the French alps and I snuck a few photos in! When we arrived we took the 4€ shuttle in to town. I have never been so grateful for having the option to wheel my bag in my life! I haven't yet needed to us it but yesterday walking for half an hour in 32• heat with an 18kg bag and having not eaten in 24hours near killed me!! We finally
Arrived at our hotel when the man said he'll need to drive us to our villa! I don't think anyone was aware we were staying in a villa let alone of you stand outside you can see the colosseum - it is amazing!! So clean and modern! I could stay here for a week!! After we put our things down we went for lunch. Food is so cheap here! I paid 5€ for lasagne and 1€ for a litre bottle of water! I expected Italy to be so expensive! After lunch we wandered down to the colosseum and went inside! It's pretty cool! The wooden floors have been destroyed from the fire that fit Roma, but they have built a replica over an edge to show you what it would have looked like! We spend a good hour there before leaving Kate and Henry to go get gelato! It was so hot all I wanted was lemon gelato! It was so yummy of course I couldn't finish it, but Simon helped me with that! We then went back to our villa to have a siesta before dinner - everyone was exhausted! After a few hours we all got up and went to dinner. I got a mushroom risotto - it was pretty average. I definitely should have got a pizza Erin and Simons was amazing! After a very long day we all finally went to bed - sleep in tomorrow!! :):)
