I have had the most amazing day today! I woke up to a beautiful red rose from Simon this morning! Something I will never forget :) This morning we caught the metro in to town to start our day with a picnic under the Eiffel tower! The first glimpse we had of the Eiffel tower was beautiful! The train station before Champ De Mars a man with an accordion hoped on the train and as we moved to the next stop he played what a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong! It was perfect!! As he played his beautiful music we came in to full view of 'Tour Eiffel!' There wasn't a cloud in the sky and they sun was shining. It was amazing! We left Kate and Henry as they walked to their hotel and we set off for the Eiffel tower! We found some beautiful views along the way! :) when we got their we sat down in the grass and took it all in as we waited for Kate and Henry to meet us! Once they arrived the girls and I set out to find a supermarket to buy some ingredients for our baguettes and some cold drinks to have a picnic! Only 5minutes away we found a small store and bought some cheese, salad, tomatoes and salami to make delicious sandwiches! We sat around for an hour or two taking in the beautiful views and soaking up the summer sun before packing up and walking around Paris! I love walking around - you get so much more out of it! We went to the Lourve, Napoleons resting place and walked through many beautiful parks and past many museums and stunning buildings! There are big parks with ponds that you can sit around and sun-bake! Everything is so clean and green! It's just such a nice place to be! The sun was beaming down on us and it was so hot! Along the way we found a big fountain sheltered by some big trees, so we took a break and dangled our feet in the icy cold water - it was the best feeling in the world! By 4:30 the boys had to leave to go and pick up their bags from Max (Henry's friend) so Erin and I walked down De Champs Elysse to the Arc De Triumph! It was amazing! We then ventured home to meet Simon and for a much needed rest and shower! Simon and I decided to head back in to town to see the town at night! First we went to the Eiffle tower - it was an amazing experience! It looks even better at dark ad just before we were about to leave the flashing lights came on! It was beautiful! We decided to head to the Moulin Rouge. Just one stop before we were to change over to train that took us there, Simon overheard some American girls ask a French man what time trains stop and he answered 12:00am! With it being 11:40pm and being multiple change overs away we had no chance of making it there and back! We couldn't even take a taxi because they refuse to drive you out of the city! I was a little disappointed, but Simon didn't get to see the Arc De Triumph and he did say he'll fly me back one day - I will definitely hold him to that :) ha ha. On a brighter note we did make it home safely! Tomorrow we have to be up at 5:00am for our flight to Rome! Oh my.. I'm going to eat my way through Italy!
