Ok, so we tried to go to Pulau Kapas from Kuala Terrengganu, that was a complete failure, we missed the boat and the next one wasn't until the next day, and as KT is faily dull and boring we decided we really could not be bothered to wait around. The only problem being we had already paid the hostel for that night!!! So after me being very charming and loads of negotiating we manged to get our money back and check out ( only 2 hours after checkout!) We then realised that we had nowhere to stay that night and needed to get to Kuala Besut to get the boat to ther Perhentian Islands! We jumped on a local bus from Terengganu to Besut, which I must say was an interesting ride. We were sitting near the back door of the bus which they kept open for all of the 3 hour journey, which was great for the breeze, but when we nearly crashed with an oncoming vehicle it was not so great, nearly fell out of our seats and the bus! The bus driver then decided to get out and go and have a word which was amusing to say the least!
Then on several occasions the bus driver would pull over and go off for a walk for 5 mins or so just leaving us there. On one occasion we stopped near a cafe and someone brought him his dinner!
Anyway we eventually arrived at Kuala Besut and before we had even got off the bus some guy had grabbed our bags and was taking them in the direction of a place to buy tickets for the boat to get to the island as well as a hotel (which by the way Chris was freaking out about as he thought we would be sleeping on a park bench, he doesn't like me making such fast changes to our plans :) )
Anyway we got our tickets for the boat the next morning and checked into a fairly basic hotel! It wasn't too bad it had its own bathroom, if you can call it that!!! You pretty much had to sit in the sink so that you could squeeze in and shut the door; I think once I have lost my love handles that migh be a tad easier!
Anyway, the next day we got on our very bumnpy boat ride to the Perhentian Islands, and I must say it was absolutely beautiful. We stayed on Coral beach on the small island and the sand was so white and the water so clear, you could see the fish swimming around your feet, needless to say I freaked out most times we were in the sea but it was well worth it. For the past four or so days (I have lost track of time) all we have done is lay on this amazing beach, sunbathe, read and enjoy eating and drinking. One night we went to the larger beach, suprisingly called Long beach and had a BBQ where we enjoyed Shark!!!!!!! (I hope that makes you proud Cat :) )
Anyway, not much to say other than we had a great time, had a little hut on the beach which was great and have even got a bit of a tan! We are now however going to make our way across to Kuala Lumpur where we are going to get a flight to Bali, very excited, and Aymee please give me some advice as what to do and see whilst we are there as I know you have been :)
Hope all is well and take care for now, we will post pics shortly.
Love Elle & Chris
