We got an over night train to Lao Cais from Hanoi and the cabin was surprisingly nice, very clean looking which made a change as our last train experience involved mice!! Didn't get much sleep on the journey and arrive in Lao Cais at approx 5.00 am where we haggled our way on to a bus to Sapa. We arrived in Sapa and it was really cold and very misty, could see about 10 meters in front only. We found a hotel Mountain View which really did have amazing view ...

After leaving Saigon, we arrived in Nha Trang, where we spent a couple of days lounging around on the beach, and out on a boat cruising around the islands. We visited a small fishing island and then got small bamboo boats back to our charter boat, which was a lot better than the one in Cambodia. We also did a bit of fishing, swimming and snorkelling.
