Reasons to Love Laos.

It is very different to what I expected it to be like, although to be honest I had no idea what to expect. It seems that everyone who goes to Laos loves it and isnt really sure why. I feel exactly the same. Laos is a really beautiful country (and God knows we saw a lot of scenery on all those bus trips). It is very montanous and completely different to Thailand or Cambodia. The Laos people are lovely - very friendly and smiley and just generally very welcoming. It is still relatively 'untouched', although Im sure that wont last long, and in a couple of years there will be loads of restaurants and pubs. As it stands at the moment everywhere in Laos seems to shut at around 10pm which is fine but can be a bit frustrating.

It was lovely to go on this two week tour but I dont think it is something I would do again. I met some fantastic people and I wouldnt have changed that side of it for the world but I think I would have preferred to do it independantly as there was a lot we missed out. Hopefully I will have time (and money!) to go back to Laos after Cambodia and see some more of the beautiful country.

Some other things I will miss about Laos:

**Condensed milk. Everywhere. In and over everything. A seriously underated treat.

**Hawking. And spitting. Everywhere. In and over everything. Not such a treat.

**Menus...as per previous blog entry. I hope they never correct them

And lots and lots of other things I cant put my finger on but it really is a fantastic country.
