Today is the day we have to go home. But before our flight home we went to the US History Museum at the Smithsonian. The first exhibit we saw were all the gowns the first ladies wore during the Presidential inaugurations. It was interesting to see the change in fashion over the many years. I was dissapointed when they didn't have Martha Washington's gown. Another exhibit I was looking forward to was the pop culture exhibit. I saw the shoes that the actor of Dorothy used for dancing scenes in the Wizard of Oz. Kermit the Frog was supposed to be in there too but he was not out for display. I was looking forward to seeing him too. After the Smithsonian we had to say goodbye to the Arizona kids who were on the trip with us. Then we headed to the airport were we had to get on a bus to get to a smaller plane out in the middle of the runway. Well, I have never done that before so people were telling me that we were going to drive there on that bus which also has like eight seats. So I thought I was goint to have to stand all the way to Philly. But once we got to Philly we boarded a plane to Dallas where my dad and brother picked me up. Going on this trip has helped me understand the history of America much better than any textbook ever could. Being able to go there and see the buildings for myself was a whole new experience for me. The tour guides were really helpful and they made learning on this trip fun. This was the best experience of my life. I loved every minute of this trip and would go again if I could. The sights I saw and the places I saw will be so valuable next year in the 8th grade when I study US History. I will be able to visualize the places being discussed during class, because I've actually been to them!
