Hello,

Well we left Kaikoura about 9 in the morning and took a drive down to another seal colony so those of us who never done the walk could see some seals there were so many of them, but when you take pics from far away they sort of look like rocks lol.

After stopping there we drove a little further down the road and walked down to a waterfall, where there are loads of baby seals, which play in the fresh water, they dont know why they do it as they dont normaly swim in fresh water but apparently theres always loads of baby seals playing in it. They started showing off when we got there and done loads of jumps in and out of the water lol they were so sweet, i tried to take some pics but they were so fast you cant realy see any of them lol.

After that we stopped at a really nice cafe and had a pot of tea before making our way to picton where the people going over to the north island would get there ferry and we waited for the other bus to come across to go down to nelson. So whilst we waited we had some lunch and then as soon as the others arrived from the ferry we made our way to Nelson.

In Nelson we stayed at a placed called fern lodge which was really nice and there was a walk you could do, which led to the centre of new zealand, so we did that and took some pictures of the veiws and the sunset. After that we made our way to the supermarket to get some dinner and had a brief look in the gardens on the way, which was literally a walk to the end of a path and back lol as we changed our mind as it was getting dark.

Once back at the lodge we made some dinner and went to sleep as i still wasnt very well and we had an early start in the morning . There is the Abel Tasman national park, which you can do tours round in Nelson but we have a rough idea on what activities we want to spend our money on so decided not to bother, as we dont want to run out of money and not be able to do the stuff we really want to do. So we didnt spend the extra nights in Nelson and decided to move straight on to Westport. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
