I finally booked my flight to Australia! Woooo! I'm still working out when I'm going to leave for Africa, as I know I need to be in Mozambique for the beginning of May, but not sure if I'll be able to go to South Africa before that (I'm so poor, boo). But I've got my working holiday visa for Oz, and I'm planning some time in New Zealand too, so it's all coming together!
I bought a 55:70 litre rucksack which is absolutely perfect for me, and loads of liners and bags for it for just over £100! I spent so much money on Amazon getting cheap First Aid kits, travel towels and things like that- it's going to be so hard packing everything I'll need for a year under 20kg in a rucksack...
I leave on the 9th of October so now it's just a waiting game, planning and sorting things out and trying not to worry my parents too much ;) I'm so looking forward to a year where I don't have to study anything, or worry about exams, or stress about work! It's going to be weird doing it on my own too, but after the past 2 years in college stressing out and being grumpy I need some time on my own to experience things. I'm sure I'll meet people there, and I've got friends I can stay with along the way, but I'll mainly be doing it alone. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to Mozambique, although with my dad home now it's going to be odd being there on my own! Hopefully I won't spent too long in Pemba before I go out to the bush camps in Niassa and I can just stay out there then!
So for now, I'm enjoying the Welsh countryside and spending time with my friends :)
By the way, if anyone wants to see the video I made of our time in Africa, the link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsNxFSOqKsQ
