Tavewa- Coral View Resort
Coral View was one of our favourite resorts and we met the most friendliest people here, The people here were so hospitable and friendly, that we stayed another night. Fijian's have many favourite games, but muscial statues, musical chairs and the stick game seem to beat the lot! Our first night at the resort was spent drinking, dancing and swimming in the sea! they also taught us how to play a card game called s***head. Apparently its v. popular with travellers.
As we had bought a 14 day Bula pass (an island hopping ticket) we had a free Wanna Taki cruise for 2 days and 1 night. This cruise sailed round the Yasawas while we sat on deck sunning our bodies!! We were given the chance to swim with the Manta Rays, and we depinately didn't want to turn down this opportunity.
Early one morning at around 6:00, ten of us hopped into a boat with our fins and snorkels and headed for the part of the ocean where the Manta Rays swim. We jumped into the sea which was surprisingly warm at this time in the morning and went in search of these big fish. They measured approx 1 meter wide by 2 meters long, including the tail.
We managed to see four in all. One of them rolled over and we were able to see the unusual markings on his underside and the arms it uses to catch its prey.
I even met a girl who used to go to Fairfax Secondary School which was a coincidence.
