Headed on a quick train ride today with a trip to Orio, a quaint fishing town to the west of San Sebastián. Today was the Fiesta de San Pedro. We started the day by having talos, a traditional Basque tortilla made from cornmeal and filled with cheese, sausage, or chocolate. Needless to say, the kids chose the chocolate talos. Next we saw traditional folk dancers and a band. We did a quick walking tour of the 17th century old town and then came back to see a parade with the dancers, band, and people dressed in Belle Époque clothes. Then it was off to the rides. Lisa and the kids went on a spider-like ride that bounced them up and down while putting them in a centrifuge. It lasted 10 minutes! Lisa decided she might need a chiropractor afterwards. Next, we had a 2 hour lunch with a great white asparagus salad, croquettes, hake, and ribs, and cheesecake. A quick train ride and we were back in San Sebastián.

Sophie Carey Wow! That sounds like one pretty awesome fiesta! I wish I could have been there. Was it raining? Well, we have great weather here. It is a perfect 4th of July lake weekend and I can't wait until Katherine posts a vlog! Miss you guys, Sophie
Avery That sounds like so much fun! The food sounds amazing and I wish I were there to try some of that(I would've gotten the chocolate Basque Tortilla too). The 4th of July BBQs will not be the same without you guys. Although we all miss you, we are glad you are having a ton of fun in Spain! Avery
