The past 3 days have been an incredible experience. There are hundreds of different boat experiences you can go on, and we chose the SV Whitehaven, which is an Eco Safari boat. On the first day and a half we were not so lucky with the weather, pretty windy and some reaaaallyy heavy rain but it made the sailing experience all the more exciting! We've had a relatively quiet few days, passing through a number of uninspiring towns, such as Hervey Bay and Rockhampton. Today we have had a day exploring Fraser Island which is made 98% of sand! The aboriginal name for the island translates as 'paradise' which is a pretty accurate description. The island is only accessible by 4 wheel drive. A short drive along 75 mile drive took us to morning tea! All very civilised.
