We spent two nights in Newcastle. Not much to say about Newcastle apart from it was gloriously warm and there was a rather nice beach there. We have bought a hop on hop off bus pass that allows us to travel between Melbourne and Cairns and make as many stops as we like. Our first journey was a nice long one between Melbourne and Canberra which took 9 hours! A couple of days ago we took a day trip along the Great Ocean Road. It was a very long day, leaving the hostel at 6:45am, returning at 7:45pm and then going out to celebrate St Patricks day in the evening! Today we have been to the Australian Grand Prix. We had thought about going for a while before we left England but hadn't got around to sorting it, so yesterday we went and bought general admission tickets for the Saturday.
