Greetings from LA, part 1!!
Flew from JFK to LAX on American Airlines (nice!) on Sun 17th. In the air 5.5hrs so not too bad at all!! Watched Toy story 3 and loved it! Left sunshine in NYC and landed in Mist and drizzle in LA!? What was going on? We appeared to take the British weather with us?!
We stayed along Hollywood Blvd so could walk to Hollywood 'walk of Fame' stars (the pavement is LETHAL when wet!!) and could see the Hollywood sign on the Hills in front of our accommodation! : ) Hollywood Blvd is a mix of American eateries, a nice new shopping centre containing the Kodak Theatre and Chinese Theatre with stars hands and foot prints in the concrete outside. Also, weirdly enough, there are lots of tattoo parlors and fancy dress shops too with some dodgy looking characters?! A real mish-mash!!
The weather put a bit of a dampener on things but it didnt stop Adam shooting some hoops in the Hotel courtyard!
We decided on the second day to walk to Sunset Strip and Rodeo Dr as it didnt look too far according to the map we had- very wrong! It took, like 2hours just to get to Sunset Strip Plaza!! You cant walk LA, its as big as a country! You def need wheels to get about! Gave up on walking to Rodeo Dr and headed back to get ready to go see Mumford and Sons play in the Palledium-they were fab and i thought the guy on keyboard deserves a show, all of his own!
The third day, i woke with a bad head-cold, typical me! So we had a lazy day and prepared for the journey to Santa Barbara the next day! In a way we were glad to be leaving the concrete expanse of LA to head to a Californian small coastal town!
