Had a rubbish day getting to Kochin from Goa. Up at 3.45am with bad delhibelly, a dreadful headache, and my taxi not looking like it was going to show up with nobody to ask at that time of night except a security guard who just gave me blank looks... so I was worrying when it got later and later. He turned up with JUST enough time to get me to the airport, both for the plane and for a toilet. Just felt seriously knackered the rest of the day but was glad to arriv...

After a tense taxi journey through crazy traffic in Delhi, I just about arrived at the Airport in time for my flight to Goa. It was great to arrive somewhere with clean air and clear blue skies, after the pollution of Delhi. After confirming my flight to Kochin (outside the aiprort) in five days time I wasn't allowed back into the airport to the cheap pre paid taxi service as I had no flight ticket, only a boarding pass. Delhi has been better than expected, had grave warnings about lots of touts, dirt and beggars but yes its busy and manic on the streets but you dont really get much grief. Just get a lot of people trying to drag you into shops for a hard sell - do they really think I want to cart endless massive carpets around the world in my backpack particulary those who "dont offer postal service"! Arrived in Delhi this lunchtime, having had a very up and down time in Agra. I got the train amidst the usual chaos from Jaipur to Agra and arrived at my hostel at 10.45pm feeling tired. The place didnt look promising straight away, scruffy and unhelpful staff and some people looking non-too-happy sitting outside there rooms. After a chaotic time at Jaipur staton I finally managed, with some help, to find my train and three hours later we were at Sawai Madhopur, the closest station to Ranthambore Tiger Park. Booked into the excellent Tiger Safari Resort with the friendly and lively Rahul being an great host. I went on three 3h Safaries and they were great, saw a couple of tigers, lots of deers, crocs, and sambas and some glorious scenery and met some great people in our open top jeeps...
