dzasta travels
We are here for 2 nights so when we arrived everyone took the opportunity to do some washing. Some put it in and some did it themselves, but we ALL did washing.
The campground is pretty good, hot showers, green grass and clean toilets.
We are here to do a walking safari with the chimps. On the way here the trip leader was advising some of the guys who to tip and how much, before we have even arrived...so it is NOT a tip it is a surcharge.
The chimp walk was pretty cool. It started out being a sprint through the jungle to try to keep up with them, but after a while we found one old guy and he was happy to sit for as many pics as we wanted. After a while some other groups found us and he was posing for about a dozen people. we moved on and saw a lot of mothers and babies sitting on a fallen tree and we were off after a closer look. They were a bit too quick for us to get photo's but we got a goo look at them. Later there were about a dozen in the tree s above us and they started yelling at each other and jumping from tree to tree. It turns out they were not fighting but the big old male was claiming his rights. The 2 1/2 hr walk was right in the jungle and the girls had trouble keeping up, but it still turned out pretty cool. I told them when we get to the gorilla's in a couple of days it is every man for himself

Ngaere No pics!!!
Ngaere These photos are great. The chimp walk looks like it was really good. We went to a chimp sanctuary - nothing like your experience.
