So far Morocco is not floating my boat.
The train trip up here from Casablanca was very comfortable. Possibly one of the best trains I have travelled on. The hotel, Mamora, is great and in a great location.
There is not much to see and do here. I'm not here to see anything in particular, just to look around really. I walked along the town beach this morning and the water is freezing and dirty brown. The Atlantic side there is no beach.
Today I just walked around the place and got my bearings. I like staying in the medina cos the touts don't come up here, unless they have someone in tow. It is pretty tranquil.
This is only 35min from Spain by ferry and the ferry comes every hour. I don't see the attraction for the Spanish but there must be something. Everybody here speaks Spanish and well as Arabic and some also French. I'm having more luck with my Spanish than my Arabic.
Tomorrow I stat a couple of short hops. Bus to Martil, about 1hr, for the beach. Next day taxi to Tetoun. Then 2hr bus the Chefchaouen, both the last two in the Atlas Mountains. From there I think I will go to Fez them the Maracesh express to Marrakech and head south after that.
