The bus trip here was soo hot. I was on some local bus, that looked OK, but the A/C just wasn't adequate.we were sweating all the way. To make it worse I was stuck on the back seat on top of the motor. When we were about 50km from El Jadida and the driver pulled over for 1/2hr break. I thought he could have gone a bit further but it really was a relief to get out of the bus into the cool 36deg outside. Just after we left there they pulled over again and the bus boy pointed to me and a couple of young German guys and motioned for us to get off. There was onother bus behind us and we had to swap busses. This other bus was a real boonger and had NO A/C at all. The last hour was pretty tough. It has really taken it out of me.
This should be my last stop in Morocco and I am here for 4 days, it is quite expensive, so I paid with my card. I love it. They charge me in MAD, take the money in EURO, a bank then changes that to USD and they take it from my bank in AUD. Four conversion and commissions for one transaction. And people wonder why I like to travel with cash?
Today I just walked down the beach. My ankles are killing me so I didn't go too far. The beach here is not very good. The water is dirty, lots of rubbish on the beach and rocky. Tomorrow I might go somewhere else.
This arvo I went into town to do some shopping. I was looking for water. There is nowhere near my hotel with water. This morning I went to Maccas and bought 3 bottles of water. Expensive way to do it. I found a good place to eat, cheap beer place and water so was good arvo. On the way back I found another water shop closer to home so I won't have to carry 2ltr of water and beers back tomorrow.
Yesterday I had a quiet day. I went to the beach early. The beach here is not very good. They are brown sand, brown water and rocks and rubbish everywhere. I also had to get a train ticket to the airport. I took a petite taxi to the train station and got the ticket and asked him to take me to Sidi Bouzid, another beach near here. He said he couldn't take me but would take me to the Grand Taxi station to get there. Grand taxi is a share taxi and they usually only go when full and to close locations. The only person who, spoke English wanted 1000 dirrums to take me. (It should have cost about 15) I told him to shove it and walked off. So I spent the arvo doing some shopping and went to the pub. I had to buy another bag to fit all the toys for my grandsons.
Today is my last day in Morocco and it is grey and overcast. Tomorrow I fly to Dubai, will have to stay in the airport for few hours then take the bus down to Abu Dhabi.
