dzasta travels
I got to the airport early and they wouldn't let me check in. I thought no bigie I will just hang around till check in. I found a spot to watch the planes and waited it out. At check in time I tried again and again I had to wait but this time in a line. It turns out because I an going to Israel there is extra security checks. Some blokes came to do the security checks. I was asked " why are you going to Israel?" Where am I going after?" "Are you carrying any weapons?" of course I told them the truth and then I was allowed to check in. At the gates there was an extra check again. They treat everyone like a criminal.
Then we have to get in a bus to get driven out to the plane. Everyone else is using the airbridges but our flight has to get the bus out to the farthest plane on the tarmac. it was only a short flight, just enough time to eat and drink. The food was lousy. When we got to Israel we taxi for about 10 min, it was by far the longest taxi in a plane ever. No wonder the plane is parked in the middle of no where. It is a 10 min ride to the back door of the terminal and where we are there is no other plane in sight. This must be the new route for terrorists or something.
Inside the airport is the slackest setup I have ever seen. I did not have to fill out a visa application. I just front at a window and she ask me "why have you come to Israel?" "Where to after?" I asked if she could stamp the piece of paper I had put in my passport and she said we don't stamp anymore. She just gave me a card with visa on it and let me in. then to customs, we all just walked out the green line cos there was no one there to check. Slack as!
I stuffed around trying to get money out of ATM. It wouldn't give me 1500 shekels so I had to settle for 600. At least I have money to get breakfast and the train. After the stuff around I am too late for last train at 11pm so they don't start till 3.30 tomorrow so I am going to spend the night in the airport. I have found the only seat in the place where I can lie down and I have the internet if only I can find power.
